Photoshop Action – Resize iPhone Screenshot to App Store Format Image

4/02/2010

I have recently been preparing my first submission to the app store. As part of the submission process, screenshots are required to be uploaded to iTunes Connect.

iTunes Connect recommend (highly) that your screenshots do not include the iPhone Status Bar. This sets the screenshot size at 460px high by 320px wide. This is 20px shorter than the iPhone screen.

I wrote a quick Photoshop Action that will crop a Mac OS X Window Screenshot (Command+Shift+4 Then Press space) into a perfectly resized screen.

The screenshot must be of the iPhone Simulator window, with the default added shadow around the window.

umm, I think I see the 460 but where is the 32 – and can you elaborate on what you are saying? it seems far too brief for something so important

dave, the 32 was meant to be 320px. I have also added a video for your viewing pleasure.
